Paper Types

The SICE Annual Conference 2014 accepts two types of submissions for review. Both types of papers should be written in English, and will be included in the conference proceedings.

Regular paper
Full papers (6-8 pages in conference format) must be submitted for review. The accepted papers will be uploaded to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Normal length for the final manuscript of a regular paper is 6 pages. Papers exceeding 6 pages may be submitted upon payment of over-length page charges (JPY 10,000 / page). A maximum of 2 extra pages above 6 pages is permitted.

Position paper
Extended abstracts (2 pages of A4, 800-1000 words) must be submitted for review. Full papers (4-6 pages in conference format) will be required for final camera-ready submissions. This category is provided for authors who want to present a timely review of research, a case study, and so on. This type of paper will not be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Normal length for the final manuscript of a position paper is 4 pages. Up to 2 extra pages are allowed without over-length page charges. (JPY 10,000 / page).

Organized Session Proposal
The organized session organizers should submit a proposal (choose "Organized Session Proposal" in the submission system) first, then a session code will be assigned to the session, and all the corresponding authors of the papers involved in the session should be informed of the session code by the session organizers. A session commonly consists of six papers.

Organized Session Paper
An organized session paper must be submitted by choosing the submission type "Organized Session Paper" along with the session code. Please note that all papers must be submitted before the indicated first submission deadline, and go through the normal review process. Both regular and position papers can be included in an organized session.

Notes
There are two presentation types at SICE2015 for regular and position papers: oral session and poster session. Please select your desired presentation type when you submit a new contribution. The final decision on the presentation type will be made by the program committee according to the review reports. The decision may be different from your choice.

For all regular-paper initial submissions, similarity and overlap with prior published materials will be checked. The results will be used for the paper evaluation. The same check will be performed for all final submissions including position papers.

The Organized Session Proposal should be submitted by a PDF file. The contents of the PDF file include the session title, names and affiliations of organizers, an abstract of the session, a list of papers. The title, authors’ names and affiliations of each paper are contained in the list.
